PURBLOCK
Polyurethane model board
Light rigid PUR foam model and construction boards are a popular material for constructors, designers to create prototypes, models, props, shaped forms or 3D advertising.
Light polyurethane foam boards, also known as polyurethane foams, have densities from 10 to 250 kg/m³. Their practical use in modeling starts at a density of 50 kg/m³. Lower density foams are generally used in the construction industry to insulate buildings, sewer pipes, etc. Foam boards are also used to fill voids in products and models. Closed pores in polyurethane foam make it difficult to absorb water.
PURBLOCK are specially prepared boards and are offered with a density of 35 to 105 kg/m3 with optimally balanced mechanical and thermal properties. All boards have excellent machinability (hand, machine or CNC milling).
PURBLOCK are cost-effective, versatile, strong and durable. They are produced using unique technological processes that are exceptionally uniform and consistent in all physical properties. Its structure contains more than 90% closed cells with very low thermal conductivity λ=0.023 (W/mK).
PURBLOCK materials are available in slabs or blocks. We can make extra-standard sizes and shapes to order. We offer a complete range that satisfies all the advantages of manufacturers with mechanical strength, heat resistance and of course surface aspect.
Their low price in relation to the mechanical parameters ranks them among the most attractive materials from the group of modeling foams.
Light model boards called foams with a density of <80 kg/m3 are fine boards with large pores. They are rarely used in models made on a CNC milling machine. Because of their low hardness, they can be used for models and large models made by hand by sculptors or as fillers for models.
Model and construction boards with a density of 80-250 kg/m3 are modeling boards with pores that can be covered with a thick spray sealant. Due to the low price and quite decent mechanical parameters, the model boards can be successfully used for models for the production of molds. They can be used to create mock-ups and ready-made elements.
